Elise is a Connecticut-based singer/songwriter and performing artist who started writing, singing and playing piano in her early teens. At only 14 she began singing professionally with her brothers Joe Theriault and Paul Theriault in cover bands Heavy Traffic and Night Rider. Elise would often entertain high-school friends singing and playing piano and performed an original song "My Friend" at her senior year talent show.
In her early 20s, Elise started writing and recording with Rex Havoc and Brian MacDonald before joining their CT-based Springsteen tribute band Thunder Road, where she sang and played keyboards for many years. She co-wrote songs with her bandmates that were recorded by several emerging artists and sang backup for country artist Teresa and Kenny Vance (Jay and the Americans) before moving to New York City to pursue a music career in her early 30s.
While in NYC, Elise partnered with Bruce MacPherson on several projects, including an original band (Fierce) and a piano/voice duo (The Macs). Elise and Bruce wrote songs for the late Lesley Gore while Bruce was her musical director. Elise also sang, wrote and performed with Michelle Yules and the Twisted Gypsies.
After 6 years in NYC, Elise moved back to CT and formed an acoustic duo with her brother Joe Theriault (Sibling Rivalry aka The Sibs) and they released a 4-song EP produced by Gray Fowler. She was a member of the songwriting team The JEBS which included her brother Joe Theriault, Bruce MacPherson and Steve Sloat, and her vocals can be heard on a grammy award winning NOAA documentary "Orphan Orca, Saving Springer" (around 16:00). Elise won a music award for her song "Beauty" in the 2011 USA Songwriting Competition. Elise was honored to perform at fundraisers for CT musician Steve Shore who ultimately lost his battle with lung cancer. Steve Shore Recovery Trust events raised funds for young cancer patients at CT Children's Hospital (more details in this video).
Elise has partnered with singer/songwriter Brian MacDonald in many projects over her musical career, including but not limited to Miss Elise & Brian MacDonald, Thunder Road, Roadwork, Street Life Rock n Soul Review, Ze-Conn (Warren Zevon tribute band) and others. Elise continues to sing with Brian MacDonald today, and most shows are promoted on her artist page: Facebook/elisetmacpherson. Rock on!
